Saad Al-Husseini: Integrity and Efficiency are Criteria for New Government Appointments

Saad Al-Husseini, Chairman of the People’s Assembly Plan and Budget Committee and member of the Executive Office of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), affirmed that Egypt needs a broad-coalition government comprising the FJP and other parties, independents, technocrats and experts in all fields from all political and social groups and movements.

Husseini pointed that integrity and efficiency are the main criteria in selecting the new government.

Husseini further added that the FJP will not represent a majority in the new government at all, "The Ministries that could be of interest to the FJP are Health and Education. However, I reiterate that the criteria for appointment will certainly be efficiency, competence, honesty and integrity".

Moreover, Husseini pointed that the FJP can nominate some personalities from outside the party for Ministerial posts provided they meet the criteria mentioned above, especially for Ministries of great importance or sensitivity.

He stressed that reports circulated in the media about the selection of some FJP figures are nothing more than baseless rumors deliberately published by the media in its daily campaign against elected institutions.

Husseini stressed the need for other parties to nominate personalities of high efficiency, competence and integrity for Ministerial portfolios. He also said that he expected the President to choose a Prime Minister during the next two days.

Then, Husseini went on, President Mohamed Morsi is going to get into details of choosing ministers, in discussions and consultations with specialized advisers.
