Dr. Essam El-Erian, Vice Chairman of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), met Thursday with Ambassadors of Britain, Hungary and Japan, at the FJP headquarters in Cairo.

The ambassadors assured their support for Egypt in its tremendous democratic transformation. James Watt, British ambassador in Cairo, and his accompanying delegation, said that Mohamed Morsi’s victory is a major step towards the peaceful transition of power in Egypt.

Meanwhile, Norihiro Okuda, Japanese ambassador in Cairo, affirmed his country's keenness to forge closer economic and political relations with Egypt’s new government.

Okuda mentioned that many Japanese companies, establishments and corporations are closely studying the situation with an eye to increasing investments in Egypt, especially with the country beginning to enjoy an atmosphere of political stability and security following the presidential elections.

Peter Kveck, Hungarian ambassador in Cairo, hailed the Egyptians’ exemplary peaceful revolution, lauding its achievements so far, from electing the parliament, to forming the Constituent Assembly, and the election of a civilian president in a democratic way. Kveck called Egyptians to take advantage of Hungary’s experience in democratization and constitution-writing.

For his part, Erian reiterated that the FJP endeavors for a sound democratic system, to achieve security, stability and social justice as well as the independence of the judiciary, to establish the rule of law, and to achieve the objectives of the January 25 revolution, in the context of human values consistent with Islamic reference, which eventually should lead to the peaceful transfer of power through the ballot box in free and fair processes.

Dr. Erian further added that Egypt has already entered a period of stability which should improve even more after writing the Constitution and the referendum to ratify it: "We are trying to finish it as soon as possible. There is a general agreement on its content among political actors and stakeholders.

"Post-revolutionary Egypt is  looking forward to establishing strong relationships based on mutual respect with all countries of the world. We certainly seek to strengthen economic relations, and attract more tourists from around the world to Egypt."
