Muslim Brotherhood: We Respect Right to Peaceful Protest and Demonstration

Dr. Mahmoud Hussein, Secretary General of the Muslim Brotherhood, reiterated the Brotherhood’s commitment to respect for freedom of opinion and peaceful demonstration guaranteed to all Egyptians.

He further stressed the need for exercising such freedoms within the boundaries of the country’s Constitution and law, and without causing damage to state institutions and facilities, or to private property – and without harming or hindering people’s interests.

In a press statement on Wednesday, Hussein said: "The Brotherhood is working hard to encourage fellow Egyptians to commit to peaceful protest and civilized behavior.

"The Brotherhood will continue all its regular daily activities in its headquarters and offices in provinces across Egypt on August 24 and 25, 2012 as usual."
