Dr. Murad Ali, media adviser to the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), launched an initiative for dialogue and communication with the press and the media during a meeting Thursday evening with Diaa Rashwan, head of the Journalists’ Syndicate, in a television program.

Dr. Ali said, "The party is committed to transparency in its dealings with journalists, and to investigating any person who attacks any individual through FJP media.

"The FJP rejects jail sentences for journalists. It holds that application of the press charter would suffice for self-censorship on the performance of journalists."

During the meeting, Ali detailed more than 50 fabricated fables and rumors circulated by the media against the Muslim Brotherhood and the FJP in the last three months alone, including the ‘sale of Maspero’, the ‘sale of the Suez Canal’ and ‘ancient monuments for rental’.

"A lot of journalists and media workers supported and stood by the Muslim Brotherhood during the persecution under the former regime. The Brotherhood certainly appreciates this role they played."
