Al-Shater Family: Police and Thugs Attack Home, Terrorize Women and Children
In one of the most paradoxical and scandalous incidents of gross police misbehavior in Egypt, officers accompanied a mob of thugs and sprayed the MB’s second in command Khairat Al-Shater’s home with live rounds.

Khadiga Al-Shater, daughter of Khairat Al-Shater – the Muslim Brotherhood’s Vice-Chairman, condemned statements by the Office of the Minister of the Interior in which the Ministry denied police ever called on her father's house. She asserted that video cameras recorded the police attack and the sight of heavy fire madly shot towards Al-Shater’s residence.

"Police terrorized the children, and threatened adults with their firearms, then disappeared to make way for thugs who were waiting outside, then lay siege to our house and began ongoing attempts to break in."

Dr. Ayman Abdel-Ghani, husband of Al-Shater’s daughter and a leading member of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), said thugs kidnapped some Al-Shater workers, including his driver, then promptly lay siege to his home, while some of them opened fire towards the balconies of the house, with his family (women and children) trapped inside.
