(Cairo, July 29th, 2013)- The ACA condemns the detention of two national figures, Eng. Aboul-Ela Madi, President of Al-Wasat (Center) Party, and Mr. Essam Sultan, Vice President of Al-Wasat, at dawn today. The ACA holds the Coup leaders fully responsible for their safety.

The ACA also affirms that this persistent targeting of its leadership will not deter it from continuing its peaceful resistance to the Coup, and demanding the return to constitutional legitimacy.

It also affirms that this is another crime to be added to the registry of offences committed by the Coup leaders.  With these actions, they are trying to take us back to the dark times of fascism and oppression, and we will not permit that, God willing.
