Anti-Coup National Alliance Urges Egyptians to Mass for Martyrs’ Friday Non-Violent Events

Anti-Coup National Alliance Urges Egyptians to Mass for Martyrs’ Friday Non-Violent Events

In light of the growing popular protests to condemn the blatant lies and brutal crimes of the coup, to overthrow the coup, and to triumph for the blood of the martyrs, the Anti-Coup National Alliance deeply appreciates and values:

– The role of the great people of Egypt in their insistence on breaking the curfew in various ways, by peaceful means.

– The popular response to boycott campaigns which kicked off civil disobedience campaigns throughout the nation.

– Participation by groups and movements from outside the Alliance in rallies and protest events to break and end the coup.

– The revolt by free peoples all over the world in solidarity with Egyptians peacefully fighting to restore the democratic process.

As vicious, fascist campaigns of arbitrary arrests and barbaric raids continued twenty-four hours a day on homes of symbols and leaders of national anti-coup action, with destruction, burning and looting of those homes during such raids, the Alliance will continue to expose these crimes and will sue the putschists.

The will of the Egyptians will not be broken. The people will not bow to these unethical raids, attacks and heinous crimes. Those will be a lasting curse on the putschists.

In the framework of the peaceful events of the ‘week of departure’ campaign, the Alliance emphasizes the need to participate in Martyr’s Friday (August 23) demonstrations, called by the Egyptian people, which will begin with mass marches, after praying for the souls of Martyrs in all mosques across Egypt.

We remain steadfast on the path, endeavoring to defeat the brutal bloody military coup.

"Those who do wrong will soon come to know where they will end up." (Quran 26:227)

God is great… Glory and pride for Egypt and the Martyrs…
