Egypt Anti-Coup National Alliance Calls on All Egyptians to Persist in Peaceful Protest
Egypt Anti-Coup National Alliance Calls on All Egyptians to Persist in Peaceful Protest
The coalition of pro-democracy, pro-legitimacy parties and movements exhorts all citizens to steel their resolve and actively participate in continuous non-violent protests for another week of anti-coup defiance.
Sunday, October 13,2013 21:51

Although the Anti-Coup, Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance deliberately called for all protests to avoid public squares that could lead to more bloodshed, reiterating the peacefulness of all events, and to preserve the blood of Egyptians spilled unjustly in Muslims’ most sacred days, and although the great Egyptian people responded to the Alliance’s call, and peaceful demonstrators avoided locations at which confrontation and violence by coup forces were anticipate, the forces of the July 3 treasonous coup, led by Abdul-Fattah El-Sisi, opened new pages of disgrace and shame on Friday October 11, 2013.

A murderous military armored vehicle drove at tremendous speed into and ran over many peaceful protestors in Alexandria, injuring more than fifty unarmed protestors. Meanwhile, the putschists’ forces killed a young man in Abbas Al-Akkad Street far away from Rabaa Al-Adaweya Square.

The events of Friday October 11 clearly show that the issue is not in Tahrir Square or Rabaa Al-Adaweya as much as it is the coup masterminds' appetite to kill innocent unarmed civilians in more bloody massacres, to seize power, and to destroy any opponents to their power-grab.

Coup commanders and collaborators forget that all these horrendous massacres will be added to their bloody record which will not be forgiven by history, and that these crimes will not be forgotten with time. "And the unjust will know what unfavorable direction their affairs will take."

The behavior of the coup organizers, and their shameful actions against the millions who took to Egypt's streets and squares to reject the military coup and support legitimacy, indicate the extent of their horror and panic.

They have reached this state due to the increasing numbers of protesters - rejecting the coup and supporting legitimacy - from all segments of the free Egyptian people, led by youth. Their horror and panic is clear in their hopeless and desperate attempts to arrest the human flood insisting on regaining freedom, dignity and the great January 25 Revolution stolen by the coup commanders.

The coup masterminds have proven they have nothing left but a security solution, using treacherous and excessive force to confront and repress free expression of opinion. And this has been seen to fail throughout history.

The precious blood spilled last Friday and continues to be spilled is a curse on those who commanded the bloodshed. It is a banner for the continuation of our peaceful march, and the fuel of a revolution that has erupted, and which will not calm down until the coup is defeated and Egypt regains its stolen democracy.

The Anti-Coup, Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance presents its sincere condolences to the family of the martyr of the Nasr City incident Friday, as well as to the families of all martyrs. It also prays for the quick recovery of those injured in Sidi Bishr, Alexandria (attacked on Friday by the mad military’s armored vehicle).

The Alliance also solemnly salutes the millions of patriotic and honorable Egyptians who turned out today, reaching the gate and walls of the presidential palace at Hadayeq El-Kobba. Will it be added to the squares under siege?

The Alliance deeply appreciates the role of Egyptians overseas in resisting the military coup. It values their vigils outside Egyptian embassies around the world, announcing their rejection of the coup and support for legitimacy.

Further, the Alliance calls on the Egyptian people, from all groups and political affiliations rejecting the military coup, to steel their resolve and continue their peaceful protest, to go forward with continued determination and relentless will, to participate in all events resisting the military coup over the coming days, until this repressive coup is defeated, and until Egypt is free of these oppressive murderers. "And this is no difficult matter for God."

May God protect Egypt, have mercy upon its martyrs, heal its wounded, and release its detainees.

"God has full control of all affairs, but most people do not know."
