Ammar Beltagy, the son of Dr. Mohamed Beltagy (senior leader of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) – currently detained in a military junta jail), on behalf of the Beltagy family, wrote this obituary of Ahmed Seif El-Islam Hamad, honorable leftist who passed away Wednesday, while his son and daughter Alaa and Sanaa, are incarcerated in coup prisons pending investigations into two political charges:

The family of Dr. Mohamed Beltagy – his wife, Sanaa Abdel-Gawwad; and their sons Ammar and Anas – send their sincere condolences to the family of Ahmed Seif El-Islam Hamad, the honorable human rights activist. May God rest his soul in peace.

Dr. Mohamed Beltagy has always been proud of working with Ahmed Seif El-Islam in the National Council for Human Rights in 2012 before the counter-revolution's treasonous coup which destroyed all the meaning of humanity and human rights, and prevented the children of the great Ahmed Seif El-Islam (Alaa and Sanaa) from seeing their father before his departure, just as it prevented Dr. Mohamed Beltagy from attending his daughter Asmaa's funeral and from seeing his other children.

The great Ahmed Seif El-Islam was well known for his honorable moral positions, patriotic stances, high principles and revolutionary spirit. May God grant him the greatest reward, and inspire us and our beloved homeland to learn from his good work in the defense of freedom and dignity for all.

May God bless the whole family as it mourns the good professor. Our sincere condolences to Dr. Leila Suef and her dear family.
