Muslim Brotherhood Chairman Badie: We are Punished for Joining January 25, 2011 Revolution

Muslim Brotherhood Chairman Badie: We are Punished for Joining January 25, 2011 Revolution

Dr Mohamed Badie, Muslim Brotherhood Chairman, said: "The groups’ history is clearly free from any reprehensible acts. I was tried in 48 different lawsuits without a single proof against me, except that I was the leader of a group that is legally registered with the Ministry of Social Solidarity".

At the end of the farcical sessions of Dr Badie’s trial, along with 104 others in the case of the Ismailia clashes, he added: "We are victims. We are no offenders". He reminded the court that the headquarters of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, had been burned completely.

The main Muslim Brotherhood headquarters were also torched and completely burned. The group’s and the FJP’s funds and property were seized by coup authorities without warrant or proper legal justification from the law or the Constitution. The group’s and the FJP’s members were ferociously and vindictively hounded, arrested, tortured and demonized for participating in the January 25 (2011) Revolution.
