Pro-Democracy National Alliance Calls ‘Celebrate Resolve’ Peaceful Protest Week.

With the passing of the holy month of Ramadan, Sisi never stopped his crimes of treachery against Egypt. He is committing a new betrayal against the homeland, offering a new concession in Egypt’s water rights, guaranteed by international conventions, and now quickly relinquished in the Entebbe Agreement. Other states signing the agreement have not relented on their unfair conditions against Egypt and its water rights.

There is little surprise that Sisi signed this agreement, which Egypt has refused to sign since 2010 for violating water security and the failure of its members to notify in advance of any projects affecting the flow of water to downstream countries and the reliance on the majority mechanism in its decisions, which allows a group of small states to issue any decisions that could harm the security of Egypt without its consent.

This new betrayal adds to Sisi’s treachery as seen in the transfer of the islands of Tiran and Sanafir. The most recent in the islands issue was an order to the President of the Constitutional Court to issue a temporary ruling to suspend the implementation of the Supreme Administrative Court verdict nullifying the shameful island transfer agreement. This latest decision by the President of the Constitutional Court is only one aspect of the criminal role of this court which is a proverbial thorn in the side of the road of democracy and freedom in Egypt. This court has been issuing rulings to order, as instructed by the rulers, over the past two decades. It is a serious threat to justice in Egypt.

What the Constitutional Court is doing is an act of betrayal of the homeland and the Constitution itself, shared also by the ‘special’ judges brought by Sisi to issue sentences for the execution of Egyptians without evidence or fair trials. Such unjust verdicts and rulings include the recent death sentences issued by civil and military criminal courts as well as the Court of Cassation, and which the United Nations and many other international organizations have condemned through statements by their respective special rapporteurs.

The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance follows and documents all these acts of betrayal in preparation for holding every traitor accountable. The Alliance congratulates the Egyptian people in general for Eid al-Fitr.

Egypt’s patriots continue real resistance to these betrayals and crimes, and will remain steadfast until victory. Their celebration of Eid al-Fitr will be a move towards freedom and dignity.

The Alliance calls for a fresh week revolutionary protest under the title: Celebrate Resolve. Let us raise our voices in defense of our freedom, our blood, our islands, our water and the dignity of all Egyptians. Let us make Eid prayers a new occasion to defend Egypt’s and Egyptians’ rights and face up to the oppressors. Our real celebration will take place on the day of liberation, God willing.

The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance salutes and applauds all resistance movements against this brutal coup regime inside and outside Egypt. The Alliance expresses complete rejection of extrajudicial execution of Egyptians who were rounded up and detained by the junta’s security services. The most recent of these were the extrajudicial killings in the governorates of Assiut and Alexandria. The Alliance also strongly rejects the storming of homes and arbitrary arrest of some political activists and symbols of opposition to the traitorous Sisi.
