Egypt: 49 MB College Students Dismissed On Security Grounds

Egypt: 49 MB College Students Dismissed On Security Grounds

Under orders from security quarters, the Student Affairs department at Alexandria University dismissed 49 students on grounds of their belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood group.

The students expressed their rejection of the decision and demonstrated in front of the University premises, holding placards which read phrases condemning the security meddling with the university affairs. The students appealed to the University President to step in, reminding him of his pledge last year that the university would not dismiss any student or deny him his due rights on political or religious grounds.

They also called for putting an end to security restrictions imposed on the Egyptian universities and give student freedoms to exercise their activities in the university.
