PA government satisfied with El Salvador’s decision

PA government satisfied with El Salvador’s decision to move embassy from occupied Jerusalem

The PA government on Saturday expressed satisfaction over El Salvador’s decision on Friday to move its embassy from occupied Jerusalem to Tel Aviv to be the last country to do so.

A PA foreign ministry spokesman said, “We view this decision, which we waited for long, with great satisfaction”.

El Salvador foreign ministry said in a statement that current conditions in the Middle East dictated its decision.

The decision came only few weeks after neighboring Costa Rica also decided to move its diplomatic mission from Jerusalem, which is considered by the UN as an occupied land, to Tel Aviv.

Israel occupied the eastern section of Jerusalem in the 1967 war and annexed it to western Jerusalem declaring it the unified and eternal capital of the Hebrew state, a decision not recognized by the UN.
