“Israel” achieved none of its goals in war against Lebanon – EP Member

EP Member – Representative of Austria’s Social Democratic Party at the European Parliament (EP), Hans Essoboda, said in Strasbourg on Wednesday that “Israel” achieved none of its objectives in its uneven war in Lebanon.
Essoboda made the comment in an exclusive interview with IRNA, adding, “Hizbullah is stronger than ever before today, having resisted bravely in the face of the invading “Israeli” land, sea, and air force, and having the experience of such a long and full scale war with the world’s 4th strongest army.”
The deputy head of the Social Democratic Fraction at EP, added, In order to maintain its current strength, Hizbullah needs to further fortify its political status in Lebanon today.”
Evaluating the “Israeli” reaction to detainment of two of its soldiers by Hizbullah forces and invading Lebanese soil so vastly as “irrational” Essoboda said, “The UN Security Council, too, should have issued its truce resolution mush sooner than this.”
The EP member added, “Our most important task today is assisting Lebanon in its reconstruction efforts, supervising the return of the “Israeli” forces back to their former positions, and the positioning of the UN international forces in Lebanon.”
He said, “In the future, the Lebanese Army should be responsible for defending Lebanon’s territorial integrity and Hizbullah should get engaged as a top political party in a bid to serve the Lebanese nation, since otherwise in the long run Lebanon would be faced with more crises that would be hazardous for that country.”
Essoboda at the end expressed hope that the international community’s main focus would be solving the problems with which the Palestinians are entangled, relying on full international consensus over the matter.
