4,464 Palestinians martyred, 47,440 wounded, 9,800 detained during Aqsa intifada

A recent report issued by PA national data center has clarified that the number of Palestinians killed since the Intifada erupted in late September 2000 until June 2006 amounted to 4,464 including 289 women and 826 children while 47,440 others were injured.


According to the report, 9,800 Palestinian detainees still languish in more than 30 Israeli prisons, including 450 children, 125 women.


The report also stated that 1,599 students from both sexes are still detained in Israeli jails.


Furthermore, the report pointed out that unemployment amongst the Palestinians has risen up to 29.6 percent.


In reference to the lands confiscated the report noted that 247,033 dunums of lands were seized in the same period for the sake of building the racist, separation wall in the West Bank.
