In an exclusive statement to Ikhwanweb, Syrian MB chairman Ali Sadruddin el Bayanoni dismissed as ungrounded the reports released by Reuters to the effect that he is ready to recognize Israel and establish relations with it.

Bayanoni said that his statement was misquoted by the reporter, pointing out that he doesn’t oppose the Palestinians negotiating with the aim to obtain their full legitimate rights as long as the other party reacts positively to these negotiations.

He affirmed that the Palestinian brothers should adopt several options rather than considering resistance as the only option. However, he said that the military option continues to be an option if the peaceful negotiations fail.

As regards the Syrian opposition front and information that the Syrian regime’ days are counted and that the MB is in for forming an Ikhwan government there, he said that it is too soon to predict this, adding that in case the opposition manages to reach power in Syria, the Muslim Brotherhood prefers a national unity government or a national coalition.
