Essam el-Arian, a prominent leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, asserted that the new cabinet reshuffle will not be able to produce real economical reform without fulfilling true political reform in advance. "The emergency law along with freedom-depriving laws discourages foreign investments in Egypt, he added in an interview on Al-Jazera Channel.

The reshuffle does not affect the Brotherhood’s parliamentary performance since we are not concerned with certain personas but investigates the agenda of the new administration.  For el-Arian, the new government rearrangement is done only to ease the public outrage provoked by the government coercive policies.

As regards the performance of the Brotherhood’s MPs in the light of the new administration, el-Arian stressed the group’s MPs will bring up many issues that preoccupy the Egyptians. They will not await government-made reforms.

In fact, the reorder of the government targets only ministers without having profound change of policies. The price rise of 30 drags is the last ministerial decision of the outgoing cabinet, for example. Thus the new administration will bring about no genuine change since it will adopt the same polices.
