Assiut Anti-Coup Alliance Warns of Consequences for Coup Liquidation of Upper Egypt Youth

Assiut Anti-Coup Alliance Warns of Consequences for Coup Liquidation of Upper Egypt Youth
In a statement issued Friday, the Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance said the extrajudicial killing of a young man by junta security militias in Assiut (Upper Egypt) is a brutal crime which is bound to have dire consequences, stressing that patriotic Egyptians will not stand idly by, but will exact retribution from criminals sooner or later.

The junta regime’s assassins broke into a young man’s apartment and shot him dead in cold blood, claiming that he fought back resisting arrest, although he was in no shape to fight at all after a recent surgery that left him with an open wound.

The victim, Ahmed Zakaria Ramadan, 28, graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, and served in the army for a year. Coup authorities had fabricated a case against him, accusing him of belonging to a terrorist cell – a case in which no judgment had been made as yet.

Anti-Coup National Alliance Statement:

With deep sorrow and sadness, we mourn the young martyr Ahmed Zakaria Ramadan, victim of the criminal security crackdown in the province of Assiut. We ask God to grant him peace and bliss in Paradise, to punish his killers and to make his blood a shame and a curse on his killers in this world and in the hereafter.

Certainly, the ongoing political repression, injustice, deteriorating social and economic conditions, and the liquidation of young people who have committed no crime, are bound to have bad results and consequences. Patriotic Egyptians will not stand idly by. They will exact retribution from criminals sooner or later.

Methodical use of brutal violence against detainees in prisons and against those who reject the coup in the street, makes the aggressors a target for the raging people, especially since they are now known to everyone, having finally shown their faces.

Coup forces’ atrocities, repression and extrajudicial killing of coup  opponents will only make us boost our determination and steel our resolve. We will continue our revolutionary journey. We will continue to tread the path of democratic transformation until we expose and defeat the despotic regime.

We will achieve victory or martyrdom.

Victory is near
