Azab Mustafa Accuses Almasry Alyoum Newspaper of Deception

Azab Mustafa, member of the Freedom and Justice Party Supreme Authority accused the Egyptian daily “Almasry Alyoum” of deliberate deception by publishing of false statements allegedly made by him.

Mustafa denied allegations published in the paper’s Wednesday October 19 edition and accused it of purposely warping and fabricating reports about the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) and the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP).

“I did not claim that the MB will spoil the electoral process if their candidates were crossed off the parliamentary electoral list,” he added, asserting that he would take the issue to court if the paper does not publish an official denial he sent over.

Mustafa stated that the paper’s editor had phoned him earlier; however, he refused to speak to him on account of the paper’s continued lies and its distortion of previous interviews concerning the MB and its slogans. “The paper has constantly printed groundless and fabricated lies, and now has gone even farther and published untrue statements and threats that only a thug could utter”.

He added: “The MB’s policies are well known and are not subject to the media to distort and tarnish. The paper has erred against the MB and has failed to accurately report even the names of the posts and positions of the group’s members”.
