Badie Family: Brotherhood Chairman in High Morale Despite Solitary Confinement

After their first visit to Dr. Mohamed Badie in prison, the family of the Chairman of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood said his morale is very high and he is most confident in victory soon.

In a statement, Ahmed Ragheb, Dr. Badie’s son-in-law, said the Brotherhood leader suffers solitary confinement in a small cell, where he is not allowed any exercise, nor any association with his fellow detainees.

Ragheb pointed that only Dr. Badie’s wife and daughter were allowed to visit him. “He told them that, during his arrest, an officer attacked and beat him, punching him in the face, knocking out his dentures and eyeglasses, which he was not allowed to pick up, and was handed them only a few days after his arrest”, Ragheb added.

Earlier, the Prison Service announced that the Brotherhood Chairman suffered a heart attack Saturday and that his condition was stable after that.
