Bahar urges Arab League and Islamic conference to fulfil reconstruction pledges

Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the first deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council (PLC), on Tuesday called on the Arab League and the organization of the Islamic conference to necessarily fulfil their pledges to reconstruct homes destroyed in the Gaza Strip.
Dr. Bahar told a news conference held on the rubble of Al-Daya family’s house that the Palestinian families in Gaza stood firmly in the face of the Israeli aggression despite the brutality of the war which wiped out homes and massacred whole families.
The deputy speaker affirmed that the survivors of these families and those who lost their homes rally behind their legitimate government and elected lawmakers, highlighting that the sacrifices made by all Palestinian families especially Al-Daya family [who lost 23 of its members] are a great honor for all Palestinians.
He also appealed to Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak to issue orders to stop building the steel wall in Rafah area and alleviate the suffering of impoverished Gaza people, deploring at the same time the fatwa issued by Al-Azhar scholars which religiously legalized the construction of the wall.
