Bahar warns Abbas of accepting Netanyahu’s proposal on Palestinian state

Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the first deputy speaker of the Palestinian legislative council (PLC), warned Mahmoud Abbas of accepting the offer from Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu about the Palestinian state, stressing that the Palestinian cause must be kept away from cheap compromises and political tampering.
“The presidency of the Palestinian legislative council followed up the proposal made by premier of the occupation state Benjamin Netanyahu on accepting a Palestinian state with provisional borders without any talk about the issue of Jerusalem and other major issues that constitute the core of the Palestinian cause,” Dr. Bahar said in a statement.
He added that the PLC presidency views with utmost seriousness the new Israeli proposal which coincided with the visit of US envoy George Mitchell to the region.
The deputy speaker also called on Abbas not to rely on the facilities suggested by Netanyahu represented in releasing a number of prisoners and removing several checkpoints in the West Bank
