Barhoum: Livni used the Egyptian arena to declare war on Palestinian people

Hamas Movement has condemned Thursday the aggressive statements of Israeli foreign minister Tsipi Livni against the Palestinian people and Hamas Movement, accusing her of using the Egyptian arena to declare new war on the Palestinian people.

In a statement he issued and a copy of which was obtained by the PIC, Hamas”s spokesman in Gaza Strip Fawzi Barhoum expressed surprise over Livni”s “criminal” remarks against the Palestinian people and Hamas Movement that she made in the Egyptian capital Cairo.

“We consider the statements of Livni as a call for racism, extremism, and criminality, which unveils her intention to commit new war crimes against our Palestinian people”, said Barhoum, adding that Livni should have been prosecuted as a war criminal, and that she shouldn’t be received in any Arab capital or any other country.

However, he stressed that Livni”s threat doesn’t frighten Hamas leadership nor could it break the determination and will of the Movement, stressing that Livni and the Israeli occupation government were the ones to blame for the current escalation.

“Livni will definitely fail in her strive to instigate the Palestinian public opinion against Hamas, and we tell her that she wouldn’t be able to destroy the Hamas Movement or the resistance”, underlined the Hamas official, underscoring that all efforts to sideline Hamas and get it out of the Palestinian equation will fail.

“We want to confirm that Israeli settlers in occupied Palestine will pay for the Livni”s foolish threats and not the Palestinian people and Hamas”s cadres only”, he emphasized.
