Bayoumi criticizes attempts of selling Egypt’s assets
MP Yousri Bayoumi, of the MB Parliamentary bloc, submitted an urgent request for information to the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Investment on the promotions by some people on selling Egypt’s assets in the form of popular stakes.
He emphasized that the project aims to sell 153 companies in three years and the government is planning the contract where citizens will only be mediators. The MP stressed strongly that a terrible crime would be committed against the nation if the scheme was in fact completed.
Bayoumi added that the government would sideline citizens, stressing that President Mubarak had not mentioned this project in his speech in the new parliamentary session, illustrating that there seemed to be some undercover scheme with only a specific number
