Beltagy: Morsi Decree Rejectionists Keen to See Military Council Generals Back in Power

Dr. Mohamed Beltagy, Secretary-General of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) in Cairo, said that the real revolution completed its course with the dismissal of the Public Prosecutor and the start of retrials for murderers of unarmed revolutionaries.

Dr. Beltagy denounced calls of support for the Public Prosecutor, saying: "Some are crying for Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud, Tahani Al-Gabali and Ahmed Al-Zind now. Did they want us to wait until the Constitutional Court restored the Military Council’s Supplementary Constitutional Declaration and brought back Field-Marshal Tantawi and General Annan?

"Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud is a former regime holdover; his dismissal is the real revolution."

On his official Facebook page, Beltagy urged revolutionaries to show strong continued support, in all governorates of Egypt, for the President’s revolutionary Decrees.

"Those who are now defending the former Public Prosecutor and the Constitutional Court’s guardianship on the whole country are simply defending the Mubarak regime so Egypt would continue to be ruled by Tantawis and Annans like Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud and Tahani Al-Gabali.

"The revolution had to be put back on track. Today, I call on the President to complete the cleansing process."
