Bin Irsheid To Ikhwanweb: I Resigned To Open Way For New Party Leadership
Islamic Action Front (IAF) party Secretary General Zaki Bin Irsheid said he tendered his resignation a number of days ago to open the way for a new leadership to manage the party’s affairs during the transitional period.
Bin Irsheid added that his resignation was also to maintain the state of accord prevalent among the MB in Jordan whether in the party’s leadership or the movement and to leave no excuse for opportunists betting on rifts within the Islamic movement.
“This resignation is one of the movement’s happy and positive surprises and I hope that it brings forth more than it bears as it holds many positive implications for the movement,” Bin Irsheid commented.
“For at a time when the components of states and parties are separating in the face of differences they have been failing to manage, the MB’s loftiness and democratic shura (consultative) practices stand out through these serious stances concerning the manner of addressing differences in points of view,” Bin Irsheid added.
Irsheid concluded that, after a number of months, the final judgment regarding the leadership body of the party will be arbitrated by the party’s rules.
