Brotherhood And Independents Boycott Internal PA Elections

Dr. Mohamed Saad El Katatni (head of the MB parliamentary bloc) announced that both Muslim Brotherhood and independent MPs stayed away from the internal parliamentary elections that took place on Wednesday.

They decided to shun from the elections concurring with the fourth PA term of the current legislative period because the ruling NDP and its members insist on possessing alone all seats and excluding MB and independent members from the PA”s committees.

“We won”t leave today”s session; however we will demonstrate our refusal of the exclusion and marginalizing policy pursued by the ruling party against Brotherhood and independents inside the PA. We will attend the session without participating or voting in the elections,” Katatni told Ikhwanweb.

Katatni expressed disappointment at the NDP policies inside the parliament indicating that the ruling party should at least observe “New Thought”, its recent motto used during the 5th convention rather than excluding the quarter of the PA from any internal committee.
