Brotherhood MPs Demand Political Decision to Allow Aid Access to Gaza

The Muslim Brotherhood parliamentarians demanded Egyptian People”s Assembly- during the meeting of the Arab Affairs committee held on Sunday morning Feb, 8th- to take a political decision that allows humanitarian aid into Gaza strip as quick as possible for the safety of the aid specially that tons of this aid stranded at Rafah crossing are decaying.

The MPs also lashed out at the Egyptian government”s decision of closing Rafah Crossing as of last 5 February and permanently and fully denying food aid access to the strip even before the decision of closing the crossing.

For his part, Dr. Farid Ismail, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood parliamentary bloc, said in statements to Ikhwanweb that the Brotherhood parliamentarians called for a permanent opening of Rafah Crossing because Rafah Crossing is a Palestinian-Egyptian crossing because Egypt isn”t a signatory to the 2005 agreement of crossings that has expired.

For his part, Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister confirmed that Egyptian government says Israeli occupation is responsible for Gaza Strip. It”s worth mentioning that, except for small amounts, Egyptian authorities have denied food aid access to Gaza since the beginning of the aggression on Strip, causing tons of aid to decay. The Egyptian government also declared closing Rafah Crossing as of 5 February.
