Campaign castigates Washington over Gaza buildings

The European campaign to end the siege strongly denounced the US administration for pressuring Israel to allow into Gaza limited construction materials sufficient only for the building of 150 housing units in war-torn Gaza.

It said that this step is a mockery of the pains and suffering of tens of thousands of displaced people.

The campaign said that what is reported in this regard is ridiculous because the building of these few homes, after a destructive war and four years of suffocating siege, will not accommodate tens of thousands of homeless people.

According to news reports, Israel pledged in an official letter to the US administration to allow in building materials for only 150 housing units in Khan Younis, while it had destroyed during its war on Gaza more than 20,000 buildings, about 5,000 of them were totally flattened.
