Constituent Assembly Secretary: Completion of Three Chapters in New Constitution Soon
Dr. Amr Darrag, Secretary-General of the Constituent Assembly (CA) entrusted with authoring Egypt’s new Constitution, affirmed the CA will – in the next few days – discuss three chapters that have been finally completed by the Drafting Committee – namely: Rights and Freedoms, Regulatory Bodies, and Foundations of the State.
"Three chapters will be submitted to the CA’s General Assembly for discussion and voicing opinions. Then, they will be returned back to the Drafting Committee, which will continue its work for the completion of the System of Governance chapter."
Dr. Darrag further pointed that the CA will therefore finish its public debate of the new charter within the next two weeks. Then, it will start receiving public feedback, comments and opinions, for consideration. And finally, amendments will be made to Constitution chapters.
