Coptic Christian Severely Injured as he Tried to Rescue Veiled “Tahrir Woman” from Military Police

Ehab Hanna, a Coptic Christian who was shot in the leg during the latest deadly clashes near the Cabinet building in Cairo gave his witnessed testimony while he lay in the Qasr el Aini hospital suffering injuries.

According to a circulating video posted on Youtube and Twitter, Ehab was shot in the knee while trying to save a young girl after she was dragged by the hair, violently beaten, and stripped half-naked by military forces during the Cabinet clashes that left above 14 killed and hundreds injured.

Hanna stated: “I was at Tahrir Square, when I saw the young girl being attacked by the military forces, I ran to help her along with a friend of mine and was shot in the knee and was viciously attacked with batons by 15 members of the military and was left in a pool of blood”.

Commenting on the testimony, Sherif Heshmat, a youth from the Freedom and Justice Party, (FJP), told Ikhwanweb: “Hanna’s testimony of helping the young girl along with others reveals that the Egyptian people are as one and no efforts to incite sedition will be heeded”.

Speaking to Ikhwanweb, he concluded: “There are many similar cases of individuals being attacked by the military and these cases must be investigated and perpetrators be tried and punished accordingly”.
