Copts in Egypt call for the Holy Synod secretary to be referred to a church trial

Copts in Egypt call for the Holy Synod secretary to be referred to a church trial

The Coptic group issued a call for “cleansing” Coptic priests stressing that the Bible has been misinterpreted. The call for supporting a leader cited by the Apostle Paul was directed at leaders or prophets from the Divine rule and not the leaders of the country. They urged that the Priest stand for trial in Church accusing him of misleading the community of believers to get them to support the existing system. His address was poorly received by his participation in the Mass of Resurrection at the gala last week, where he reaffirmed the Church’s position in favor of President Mubarak.

The group called on Pope Shenouda III, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Episcopate, to isolate Bishoy,  from all functions operated  and demerit his priesthood.
