Coup Security Forces Arrest, Detain 3 Muslim Brotherhood Leaders After 3-Hour Torture Session
Coup security forces today (Sunday) abducted three Muslim Brotherhood leaders from the governorates of Qena, Luxor and the Red Sea, who were on their way to a hospital in Cairo for medical tests and treatment.
Seif Al-Din Maghrebi, head of the Muslim Brotherhood Administrative Office in Qena, Luxor and the Red Sea provinces; Mustafa Abu-Sherifa Adoum, former Shura Council member; and Ali Mustafa, Muslim Brotherhood leader in Qena were abducted by junta regime militias, who took them to an undisclosed detention center.
One of the kidnapped leaders’ daughter said the three had been tortured and brutally beaten for more than three hours as coup militias tried to extract information and confessions from them by sheer force. Then, the three were taken away by coup security forces in a most humiliating manner, despite these men’s old age and illnesses, to an unknown destination.
One of the victims of today’s atrocities at the hands of security militias is Seif Al-Din Maghrebi, who is a 72-year old retired engineer. He suffers a number of different illnesses. For him, today’s brutal and violent treatment is certainly a life-threatening atrocity.
