Court to Decide on Freezing MB Assets March 18

The Administrative Court hearing the lawsuit filed by families of Muslim Brotherhood (MB) leaders transferred to a military court against freezing their assets, will issue its ruling on the case on March 18, 2008. This court will issue its ruling into the case after Department Of State Commissioners completes its report about the case and ahead of issuing the final ruling into the military case against MB leaders in the session scheduled to be held next March, 26th, 2008.

Al Zahraa Khairat Al Shater, wife of engineer Ayman Abdul Ghani and daughter of engineer Khairat Al-Shater (both transferrd to a military tribunal), told Ikhwanweb that relatives of the MB leaders facing the military case are overwhelmed by worry for fear that the decision of the administrative court scheduled to be issued next March, 18th, may be politically motivated.

She said that the court may face pressures from the Egyptian regime in a way that may drive the judges to issue an unjust rule against families of the MB leaders whose assets are frozen. Although the civilian justice acquitted the MB leaders of the charges against them, but the Egyptian regime did not implement the civil court rulings and even referred them to the military justice. A remake of this tragedy may happen because the Egyptian regime that got used to repressing its critics won’t accept that any fair judge issues a fair ruling according to Egyptian laws.
