Crackdown on journalist and Six MB
Sixth of October state security forces continued their fierce security crackdown on 6 leading Muslim Brotherhood figures, led by columnist, Badr Mohamed Badr, after raiding his house at dawn today. Badr served as editor-in-chief of the journal The Banner of Islam in 1988, editor-in-chief of Afaq Arabiya from 2000-2004 and is currently editor-in-chief of The Arab Family newspaper and husband of the group’s candidate for the women’s quota, Azza Al-Garf.
The campaign of arrests against MB members include: Majdi Hilmi Al-Zommar for Nahia, Ahmed Rabie for Kerdasa, Zaki Abdel-Aziz Farhat for Kafr Gatati, Ibrahim Tahseen for 6th of October City, and Abdel-Fattah Salem for 6th of October.
In the Minya governorate, Mohamed Mohamed Hassanein and Mustafa Ahmed Abdel Azim, supporters of MB candidate, Abdul Rahim Abdul Salam for Samalut, were arrested in early morning raids on their houses.
