Crackdown on Software companies in Damanhur
State Security Service today launched a large-scale campaign of store raids against Software and Information Technology Companies in Damanhur city, in the governorate of El-Behera. The seized computers were estimated to be more than 50,000 L.E.
SSI campaign has covered as yet Quick.Net, Cordoba, and Happy Land companies this continued amid reports that they intend to expand confiscation without any justification.
Police campaign has seized about 30,000 L.E in cash pertaining Quick Net 10,000 pounds in addition to number of Personal Computers under maintenance. An inventory is being conducted now for all items and PCs confiscated.
It is worth mentioning that the States Security service and Artistic Works Investigation Unit have launched large raids against the Islamic library Some light (Nahwalnoor) in Mount Sinai St. on 2nd June 2009.This coincides in reports where Major Nagi Al-Gammal and inspector Gamal Tayah are set to appear in Damanhur prosecution for a questioning which was submitted by Fares Barakat who was a victim during the arrests in al-Behira on 15th May 2009 against 24 belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood.
Security forces searched the entire library, and took over volumes and several Islamic books worth 28,000 L.E, they also arrested employee Reda Alhouci.
