Democracy in Egypt, One Text and Twitter at a Time
At Wired, David Wolman writes a long piece about how young democracy activists in Egypt are using new media such as Facebook and text messaging to consolidate and mobilize the opposition movement. The success of the vanguard group of bloggers and Facebookers in challenging the regime has sparked a vigorous government counteroffensive, and has also raised the profile of the growing youth movement both within Egypt and internationally.
