Democratic Alliance Parties to Take Part in Nov 18 Protests Against Supra-Constitutional Document

Following a fresh round of talks with post-revolution political forces including members from the Democratic Alliance (DA), and presidential contenders to solve the issue concerning the proposed document on supra-constitutional principles by Dr. Ali Selmy, it appears no common ground was met.
Although numerous points were agreed upon, no final draft has been prepared to satisfy the people offering them full legitimacy of power, especially during these trying times with the upcoming parliamentary elections offering the people the true democratic experience and the first step to the transition of power.
It is on this note that the DA announces its full adherence to the previous documents that have formerly been agreed upon, namely the Azhar and DA documents. Furthermore, it asserts it will take part in the Friday November 18 rally confirming its stance towards its demands that the people’s will be fully respected and not circumvented since it is the most important objective of the January 25 revolution.
