Demonstrations in Alexandria Calling for New Constitution First
Following Friday prayers political and national powers organized a rally in front of Alexandria ‘s al-Qaed Ibrahim Mosque.
The protestors called to continue garnering the fruits of Egypt ’s January 25 Revolution, and expressed their desire to achieve all the objectives of the revolution.
According to an article in the "Youm 7" representatives of protestors issued a statement calling for unity and rejecting sectarian strife among Egyptian citizens who will remain one nation regardless of religion.
Other demands included a new constitution be formed before the next parliamentary elections in a bid to open the door for all parties and powers to participate in formulating the new constitution to avoid specific political factions monopolizing on drawing Egypt’s future.
