Despite denials pro-Gamal posters line Cairo ‘s streets
The coalition coordinator former Tagammu Party member, Magdy El kordy organized the campaign stressing that the recent emergence of opposition such as former IAEA chief Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei on the political arena prompted the coalition to take such measures. El Kordi described the Nobel Peace Prize laureate as lacking a political agenda stressing that it was important for those who wished to run for presidency.
ElBaradei’s appearance earlier this year has not been met with lightly as the ‘could be candidate’ met with many political opposition leaders and joined forces in their call for political reform and constitutional amendments.
The most recent collaboration has been with the Muslim Brotherhood an online petition demanding 7 changes for reform. Despite differences in ideology and policy the groups agreed on the significance of the opposition’s unity which would help strengthen their call for change which would be beneficial to all of Egypt . None of the opposition however have yet decided or announced on whether they will be fielding candidates in any of the upcoming parliamentary or presidential elections.
