Detention of 42 Al-Fayyoum MBs, Raids Continued
CSF-backed state security agents launched fierce raids against MB Fayyoum chapter, resulting in 42 detentions inside the MB affiliates, who were arrested from inside mosques and public places, on the Eve of the Bigger Feast (a top-ranked Muslim religious ceremony). An eye-witness told Ikhwanweb that the series of detentions still continued till now.
On his part, Dr. Essam El-Irian, Chief of MB Political Bureau, told Ikhwanweb that these detentions explain how the regime insisted on harassing the basic rights of its peaceful dissents, even in these holy events. “Undoubtedly, the regime can not abandon its antagonistic behavior towards all opposition groups” adding “the regime”s security-aided saber-rattlings aim at excluding the Muslim Brotherhood from the political scene”. “The group will never relinquish its peaceful and gradual approach towards reform.” collaborating the MB leader
Noteworthy, after 2005 Parliamentary Elections which harvested in 88 Muslim Brotherhood MPs, the regime”s seriousness towards bringing about political reform and democratic option became so crystal as the regime icons became faithful adherents and theorists of despotism and human rights violations.
