Detention Renewed for MB Accused of Supporting Hamas

Supreme State Security Court has renewed the detention of Dr. Emadu-Din; a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, veterinarian, and businessman from Qalyobiah governorate who has been detained on the charge of supporting Hamas.
However, South Cairo Court ordered him released after submitting a petition that he has been detained for trying to running for the local elections. He has been pending detention for almost three months.
He was detained on April 1, 2008 prior to the local elections. He was then released and kidnapped by the state security forces and kept in custody for 21 days and eventually they placed his name in the case of supporting Hamas with Dr. Abdul-Hai Al-Faramawi.
His lawyer has submitted a petition for the Ministry of Interior after which he was ordered released by the court; however the Ministry of Interior challenged the decision, consequently he was examined by North Abbasia Court that also ordered him released but he was kept in custody pending investigation for another 15 days.
