“Development and Reform” the Slogan of Islamic Constitutional Movement in Elections of Kuwait

Dr. Hamad Al-Matar and Dr. Jamaan El-Harbash (candidates of the Islamic Constitutional Movement in the second constituency in Kuwait) stressed that Kuwait is currently living “a real political crisis” and the movement wants to participate in the elections of 16 May 2009, in order to work on solving this crisis with developing a board development program to contain the effects of the global financial crisis and to make Kuwait a pioneer in the gulf.

During an electoral symposium titled “What Do We Want From the Next Session” they described the crisis in Kuwait as the “political disease” which must be diagnosed correctly, while Kuwaiti people are living in a state of frustration and grumbling because of the performance of the former MPs.

Dr. Hamad Al-Matar (candidate of the second constitution) stated that: No doubt the Kuwaiti society is living in a state of frustration and grumbling because of the performance of former Mps, calling the citizens to be optimistic, as Muslims “Expect good, find good”, so we must believe that the next stage is a stage of flexibility.

They stressed on the rights of citizens and of their most basic civil rights is to see a government of achievements, government of initiatives and a government with no hesitation and thus the balance between the two executives lies in the people with choosing reliable members of the National Council and also in choosing men of the state, as we have noted, due to the government’s hesitation, the absence of many state men from joining the executive authority and there should be a government of initiatives.

He pledged that the candidates of the movement would lead a bloc within the Council that looks for development, stressing that Kuwait is has an excessive need today for frankness, staying away from defamation, investigations, stopping the spirit of despair that does not need political money and intervening in elections for everyone to share in solving this crisis.
