Egypt: Alkarama marks anniversary of harsh MB military sentences

The National Committee for the Defence of Prisoners of Conscience will be organizing a seminar on Wednesday April 28, at the headquarters of Alkarama Party. The seminar will mark the third year of the unjust trial against Engineer Khayrat Al-Shater the Muslim Brotherhood deputy chairman and his companions.
Al-Shater and 39 members of the Brotherhood were served harsh sentences which varied between 3 -10 years imprisonment despite being acquitted four times by civil court.
The seminar will start at 7pm and will be attended by Dr. Mahmoud Ezzat, Deputy Chairman of the Muslim Brotherhood and a number of representatives from numerous political parties.
Mohamed Abdel Qudous, Rapporteur of the committee stated that the seminar will address the seriousness of the Military Courts and its unfair decisions against prisoners of conscience. It will also discuss the violated freedoms and the struggle against corruption in Egypt . Other participants in the seminar include Dr. Abdel Halim Qandil, Essam Shiha, Gamila Ismail and Abdul Khaleq Farouq.
