Egypt: Poor Blaming Of “Shoot ‘em” MP Is Not On Our Behalf Prosecutor General Should Not Let The Incitement Crime Go By

The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information said today, that the slight blame punishment issued by the Parliament on MP , Hassan Nashat AlQassas, famous for “shoot ‘em” MP, is a sarcastic penalty. This assured that this Parliament does not express the Egyptian public opinion as this penalty is not issued on behalf of  the Egyptians.

The prosecutor general has to hasten in investigating the many communiqués filed by   citizens and organizations especially that the positive side in this sarcastic penalty is that it  clearly proves the crime of incitement to shoot  demonstrators has occurred and should not go without accountability.

ANHRI said that, the prosecutor general neglecting these communiqués calls for more concern over the course of justice in Egypt, particularly that the crime of incitement to shoot and use  violence is set forth in the penal code. The crime was proven against the MP in parliament as well as that this MP repeated the same calls of incitement on two talk show programs watched by  millions:  “Men Qalb Misr and “Al Ashraa Masaa” programs.This means that it is a continuous crime that deserves penalty knowing that there is no immunity for  MPs outside  Parliament.

Gamal Eid, ANHRI executive director said, “Both MPs, Ragab Helal Hemaida and Ahmed Abu Aqrab escaped punishment because of NDP defending them despite they were involved in the  incitement and they insulted Egyptian citizens. Nashat el-Qasas should not flee from punishment after repeating this blatant incitement three times at least. We cannot overlook this question in the Egyptian minds : Will the prosecutor general disregard these incitements  if they  were declared by one of the independent or opposition MPs? Justice that turns a blind eye on a citizen and is active on  another is a lame justice”.
