Egypt: State security harasses and arrests 4 petitioners

In an unjustified manner state security raided the houses of 4 citizens and arrested them after they participated in the petition calling for political reform and constitutional amendments in the Egyptian constituency of Beheira.

Former MP for the Muslim Brotherhood Dr. Gamal Heshmat slammed the arrests describing them as a breach of the freedom stipulated in the constitution. In a statement to “Ikhwanweb” he asserted that the demands cited in the petition were legitimate and were in fact justified demands chartered in the constitution.

On his part NAC Representative Hani Salah Idrees criticized the arrest of innocent citizens urging all political opposition to voice their contempt of the regime’s oppression.
