Egypt Anti-Coup Alliance: Sisi Thugs Use Machine-Guns Against Peaceful Demonstrators
The loathsome scene of criminal violence today by brutal Sisi thugs and coup military forces against large crowds of Egyptians who came out to join the ‘Trial of Popular Will’ week of peaceful protest activities, and resulted in the arrest of dozens – including 9 women – and injuring more than a hundred others during the savage dispersal of Sidi Bishr, Suez and Haram (Cairo) demonstrations, will not intimidate a generation of citizens who have tasted freedom and know the way to reclaim it. It will not deter free and honorable Egyptians from completing the journey.
The Anti-Coup, Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance assures that the bloody record of the July 3 coup leaders and their forces will be a curse on them in the near future. Their use of machine guns against peaceful demonstrators, their use of heavy weapons and armored vehicles to terrorize women, children and young people only prove their weakness and fragility and their fear of the approaching moment when they will stand trial for all the crimes they committed against the great and patriotic people of this homeland.
The Alliance salutes the tens of millions of free and brave Egyptian people who came out Friday in all the governorates of Egypt in protest at these false trials of the country’s legitimate President and his associates.
The Alliance calls on the masses of free, patriotic and proud people to continue peaceful protests and turn out Saturday, November 2 to participate in the protest rallies to be held in front of the High Court at twelve o’clock noon, and other events in the "Trial of Popular Will" week of nonviolent defiance.
The Alliance holds the coup leaders – especially General Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi – fully responsible for any violations of the rights of the legitimate President Mohamed Morsi and for any harm inflicted on the President.
The Alliance further calls on the masses of the free proud Egyptian people to rally in all liberty squares and all streets across the country in protest at these false trials of Egypt’s legitimate elected President and his fellow ‘defendants’, every day until Monday November 4, the “President’s Steadfastness” day, when rallies should meet outside the Police Officers’ Academy building in Tora.
The Alliance also calls on the whole free world to demonstrate on this day in front of Egypt’s embassies and consulates. We will make this day an international day of protest. We will defeat this brutal traitorous military coup.
God save Egypt, its good people and its legitimate President from all harm and ill
