Egypt Anti-Coup Alliance Calls ‘January Revolution is Back’; Salutes Turkish People

Egypt Anti-Coup Alliance Calls ‘January Revolution is Back’; Salutes Turkish People

History repeats itself. In 2011, Tunisia inspired Egyptians to rise in the January 25 Revolution. Today, the Turkish people give Egyptians a new inspiration to face the counter-revolution – the military coup that unseated the elected President Mohamed Morsi.

The Anti-Coup Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance notes that after the failure of the military coup attempt in Turkey, the freedom train is once again crushing the authoritarian model. And it will not stop. Egyptians should be inspired by the experience and not waste the opportunity.

The Turkish people’s rise against the coup sent an important message to all Egyptians: no tank or weapon can stand in the face of the people’s voice and effective action… Armies must not interfere in government matters. They must have nothing to do with politics and policies. Therefore, Egypt’s free and patriotic revolutionaries must realize that popular and revolutionary unity is essential in order to achieve the demands of the January 25 (2011) Revolution and to save Egypt.

If some people deliberately overlook general Sisi’s crimes, we call on everyone to raise banners in demonstrations and launch campaigns on social networking websites to remind Egyptians of the fascist Sisi’s horrific crimes, including the impoverishment of the people, by widespread price rises due to the major economic collapse the junta caused, and the decline of the value of the Egyptian Pound, as well as the crimes of abolishing political life, militarizing all the state, and the extermination of human rights.

The Alliance salutes and supports the resilience of the Turkish people. The plundering Sisi is haunted by his heinous crimes, including the plotting and mounting of an illegitimate military coup, and the killing and wounding of more than 5,000 anti-coup protesters, the imprisonment of 40,000 dissidents, the firing of thousands more of Sisi’s opponents in education, the judiciary, intelligence and all state institutions, and the ruthless hounding of thousands of Egyptians.

It is a shame for Egypt not to condemn the military coup attempt in Turkey. Certainly, this exposed the treasonous coup of general Sisi who clearly cares more for Israel and the liberation of its prisoners held by Hamas in Gaza than he cares for Egyptians’ problems.

To all Egyptians…

We urge you to join a peaceful popular protest that demands justice, freedom and dignity. We must defend Egypt from all harm. We will not let Sisi’s coup regime to continue, whatever happens. Everyone must take action to save Egypt and popular will and join us in a new week of non-violent protests under the title "The January Revolution is Back" within the revolutionary wave "Leave".

There is no doubt that the January 2011 Revolution will ultimately triumph. We shall fulfill its demands and exact retribution for its usurped rights, with the will of all free and patriotic Egyptians.
