Egypt Has Received No Request to Monitor Election

Ambassador Mokhles Kotb, Secretary General of National Council for Human Rights (NHCR) said that there were no requests from foreign observers to monitor the presidential elections.

He made it clear that there is no foreign observer has a capacity to monitor the election without an official invitation by the State.

He made clear that the PEC is the only body authorized to accept or reject monitoring requests in accordance with the legal authorities it has.

Kotb stressed that there is an Egyptian consensus by parties, candidates and parties concerned on the refusal of foreign monitoring.
