Egypt Police Arrests 12 year Old Boy on the Eve of Local Elections
A 12-year-old boy was arrested from street Monday by security police in the northern Egyptian city of Damietta while he was playing with his friends in front of his house, Ikhwanweb reporter said.
The kid, Osama Quwima, is son of a member of the Muslim Brotherhood who has been chased by police since election registration began. He is said to have taken part in circulating material related to MB participation in elections.
The crackdown on the MB has not stopped until this moment, despite the goup”s decision today to boycott Tuesday”s vote. Reportes say MB members are being rounded up from streets. One of them is former leader of the Free Student Union Abdel Aziz Megahed who has been kidnapped by armed strangers today as he was hanging a banner in favor of MB candidates who have obtained verdicts allowing them to participate in elections.
Several administrative courts accross the country have annulled elections as well as the president”s call for them.
